Can I apply for an ETA on behalf of someone else?

The answer is yes. That’s what’s good about the ETA application being purely online. If you have a friend who is not Internet-savvy, illiterate or has a  disability, you can help him/her apply for an ETA.

However, you must remember that all the details you put in the ETA application must correspond with those of their passport. Make sure that you enter the applicant’s (not yours) details correctly. Any typographical error could lead to a problem in the future. Otherwise, you might end up getting refused for an ETA.

Also, you can also use non-personal email addresses, since its only purpose is to receive the application result/confirmation. However, it would be better if you use a separate email address, just for privacy reasons, or to avoid confusion.
